Your goddess smiles upon you today. As you swing you feel the stars aligning, birds chirping in the meadows, the sound of money hitting the bottom of a beggar's cup in a far-away land, and flowing water from somewhere close. No, wait. thats not water. Your starknife has split the half orc in half from chin to pelvis. You stare at your weapon in wonderment. The blades aren't even that long... No matter, the brigand lies dead.

Pondscum, taken aback by the ferocity of your strike, stands speechless. the fire beetle, however, has seen worse on his plane. Turning he clatters over to the halfling and attacks! the halfling retaliates with a kick that crushes the insect.

The mayor's daughter, now almost giddy with the heat of battle, begins cackling as she this time tosses a ray or lightning at the halfling, striking him in the other shoulder.

the roguish figure, reeling from the electrical blast, tumbles backward behind the wagon. Just as he dissappears, the same face you saw earlier hops out with a short sword readied. He takes a glance at the battlefield and bolts the opposite direction.

What do you do?

In a last ditch effort too end this confrontation I hurl my starknife it the fleeing figure. (18 for 6)

The thug screams in pain and drops to his knees, knife sticking out of his left shoulder. He turns to you, still on his knees, and raises his hands defensively.

Your gnomish companion, still shocked by his first real battle, numbly begins walking towards the kneeling and injured rogue, dagger held high above his head. Wordless mumbles fall from his lips as he half stumbles past you. A bolt of lightning streaks between the two of you striking the kneeling man and bringing him to his hands, face inches from the dirt, quivering in pain.

What do you do?

I walk over too the injure person and jerk my starknife out of his back. "Are we done here? Or are we going to have to kill you. Everything you own between your persons and the wagon are ours. It we take your life anyways. Sound like a deal?" (21 intimidate.... Rolled a 4)

You easily convince the wounded man to give up. Pondscum is still stumbling towards the man, however, with dagger drawn. He seems to be a bit out of it. The girl has calmed down, though.

What do you do?

I grab podscum by the arm to snap him out of it. Once he has calmed down I go about searching the half Orc and the wagon while having my captive empty his pockets and give any and everything he has of value.

All is calm again. You get a handful of silver form the wounded brigand and a short sword. Inside the cart, however, is a different story. Apparently this operation has been going on for a while. A chest up towards the driver's seat holds almost 5000g and armor and weapons scatter the inside of the wagon. Most of it is useless junk, but you do see a few potions, a cloak, and a handful of rings and amulets.

Jackpot!! Once I gather everything I go about fixing the Cart to get it up and rolling again. I do my best to conceal my new found treasure. Once we are all settled in I ask pond scum if he has any tricks that would help us be less conspicuous on our travels as we finish our trek to abitha.

"I suppose a heavily armed group would attract attention, but besides that I'm not as much of a trickster as my kin..." What must have been a gnome blush flashed across his face.

Unperturbed you continue on. The rest of the day went by uneventfully, and that evening by the camp fire you feel the need to roll perception...

You hit his head successfully against the side of the wagon and maintain ur grapple. He shales his head to clear the stars from his eyes and gives up.

pondscum comes running with a length of rope and ties his hands.

Once the con artist is tied up I search his person for everything and anything. "You don't happen to have a hideout where we can find more of your ill gotten wealth. Do you?"(20 intimidate).
