you make it to the body. You feel like your breath is about half gone.

(RL knowledge. Bodies float) I attempt to drag the body to the shore. (Natural 1...+1=2....)

you pull on the body but it doesn't budge. you notice the glitter is coming from the corpse's neck.

(Should I just make a series of rolls until I get 6 successes or until I run out of breath 14 rolls?)

I remove the necklace and swim to the surface (12)

you breach the water like a dolfin and bump your head on the low shaft ceiling. As you wade back to the dry land, you give the necklace a glance. It is a locket on a silver chain. Upon opening it you see two human portraits painted on either side facing each other: one a man, the other a woman. you recognize neither of them.

Your armor is gone. EDIT: glitch in the system. your armor is right where you left it.

(Sigh) I return to the main chamber, using my improved powers of stealth (17) I return to the main chamber and work my way around to the entrance then continue around to the other side of the room and pear down the tunnel there

down this shaft you see nothing but a cave-in about 45 feet away.

(Ok from here on....weapons and armor are equipped) seeing nothing down the shaft I continue around the room trying my best to leave the bats where they rest to avoid any possible ruckus that could alert those in the mine of my prescience as I venture too the final shaft in the room.( what what natural 20...+2, 22 stealth)

hugging the wall, you make an expert attempt at moving silently. Just before you get to the back shaft entrance, however, you kick a small rock which rolls tumbling towards the central pillar.

the rock hits a discarded shovel with a small DING! and one of the bats rouses and looks down to see what happened.

[Unkykong]

I hold still not wanting to deal with simple bats resting for the day.

[Lefty]

The bat, sensing no danger folds its head back into its wing and soon you hear little bat-snores indicating peace is once more restored to the mine.

The back passage awaits.

I continue down the awaiting path with my incredible stealth like abilities. (4)

As you turn and begin down the shaft you breathe a huge sigh of relief. the sudden sound sends the bats screeching and flying around the cave, but after a few minutes you hear nothing more and continue down the path.

After a while you come to the end of the tunnel. A large hole awaits in the ground at the end of the mine shaft. It appears to have been dug out from the inside.

I creep up to the edge of the whole to determine its depth and contents before descending into the hole.

At this height you cannot see very deep into the hole, but you think you might see a soft glow towards the side a little ways down.

Roll perception.

Using my keen powers of perception (23)

[Lefty]

You see just under you in the wall of the pit small indentations. These continue down into the pit and almost resemble a ladder. The pit appears to be about 35 feet deep.

Having prepared my grappling hook earlier I secure it at the top of the hole and let the rope fall in. I then use the combination of the rope and ladder to descend into the hole (2).

you begin making your way down the shaft, not knowing what you'd find. thoughts of the Troglodytes and Imps heard about in town keep going through your head. you grip the rope tightly in anticipation of whatever evils are lurking in the depths below.

you utter a short prayer to Desna and as a burst of overwhelming confidence rushes through you you raise your arms in victory! All seems golden and right in the world. In fact you feel a soft breeze upon your face.

As you open your eyes you see the ground rushing up to meet you. Take 1 point of damage.

(Hahahaha I love it). Getting to my feet, brushing myself off and organizing my person. I look around to get my bearings then look toward the like to see what I can see

Ahead of you the cave that opens up no longer is the rough hewn dirt and stone of the mine. this chamber looks ancient. The once carefully aligned stones making up the walls and ceiling are now corroded and eaten up with lichen. the floor, however, cannot be seen. Piles of long decayed corpses lie in dusty heaps across the room and a thick film of what you hope is merely dust and dirt covers the rest of the floor of this unholy place.

Straight ahead of you, however, is a relatively clear portion of the room. Some of the bones form the corpses have been gathered and lashed together to form a sort of alter or table upon which blood and gore have been spattered. To the sides more recent body parts can be seen including a few mining picks and shovels.

upon the alter lies a bundled form, quivering in silent sobs of hopelessness. and kneeling in front of it all is a hooded figure muttering prayers in some dark and twisted tongue. At the sound of your entry it slowly stands, but keeps its back to you.

Taking the moment I have while the creature has its back turned to me I cast daze on it

[Lefty]

A sharp hissing laughter issues from the hood as the creature turns around. "Your magic isss weak upworlder. you come into my domain and casssst your sssstinking magicssss on me? you shall be the meal of the new creation!"

And with a leaping hiss the creature rolls initiative.
