As it jumps forward onto you, you swing your starknife up while crouching and the lizard's belly gets sliced longways as it flies over you. It lands on the ground behind you in a heap as you make an impressive flourish! (it had 4 hp lol)

Ahead of you the shaft leads downwards into water. You think you might see something in the water but cant tell. (roll perception)

you see what appears to be a drowned miner in the water, some 30 feet away. As you peer into the murky depths you see a small glint of something metallic shining.

I reach ento the water and retreated the object

As you reach into the water you suddenly realize your arm is not 30 feet long.

(Oh I thought the water was 30 feet from my position, not that there was 30 feet of water between me and the miner). I take off my backpack an tie my rope to the grappling hook, using the combination of the two I attempt to fish the body out if the water.

Your hook seems to not go through water as well as it does air and doesn't make it more than half way.

(I'm confused is the body on the bottom of a pool of water that is 30 feet deep or floating on top of a pool that is 30 feet across)

(Considering I'm in a dungeon that should be cleared first ill come back later). Finally getting my bearings on where I am in relation to the shining object, I decide to remember where it is and will come back later once the threat of the mines has been dealt with. I roll up my rope and hook, then stuff it into my backpack before returning to the shaft enterance.

As you approach the central chamber, you realize you can see around the pillar for the first time. Three bats hang sleeping from the back of the pillar, and the chamber ends in a small shaft leading away into the mountain. From this vantage point you cannot see the other shaft directly opposite you.

Seeing that the nearest possible threat is sound asleep I decide that the lure of the shining object overwhelming. I return to the pond. Undon my armor and go for a quick dip to retreive the shining object.
